On Pace to $20,000 MONTH #OCT#RIDE THE HEAT#WEEK 1 UPDATE =)

Pace to $20,000 MONTH #SEPT#RIDE THE HEAT

A whole week has lapsed into October and it's time to do some reflections on our goals for the month! .

Original Goals Set
  • Continue working out 4-5x a week
barely missed this goal as I had to skip a day at the gym due to a completely wrecked sleep schedule.
  • Earn at least 100k VPP's
only earned about 20k VPPs this week which if sustained will average to 80k VPPs. Goal Missed.
  • Win profits at the tables ; increase winrate
goals hit for both; win rate increased as well as profits
  • Work on Mental Game "Tilt"
Cracked open the Mental Game of Poker and read a whole chapter ! Very pleased with myself.
  • Try and Update Blog several times a week
Nearly everyday. . .
  • Manage time a lot better
Goal missed. If time was better managed better I would've hit VPP/Volume Goal

The Summary

As you can see I'm running fairly well at 6-max this month; however if you recall from the previous month I was nearly 2k below there so this month barely makes up for it.

As for my full-ring; the EV-Winrates seem more or less in order same as last month +/- 25% deviation which seems more or less standard in this. . . relatively variance free game.

The 50nl/200nl were mainly due to forced additional volume to try and scrape some VPPs.

Brief Review

Several times this month I believe only 2-3 sessions so far I've spewed just absolutely terrible. One of which was yesterday, after succumbing to situation run-bad where It had felt I couldn't win a single pot I did the unspeakable thing. . .I peeked at the results mid session.

This not only drove my Mental Game into overdrive frantically over adjusting to try and "Get Even" for the day. I started to 3bet/4bet/5bet/6bet trying to scrape up the pennies and dimes hoping to turn that into a small profit; "In actuality I was only down maybe 150$ for the day". After making Tom Dwan plays with monkey reasoning. . . I hemorrhaged 1k in a matter of 800 hands

The Game Plan

For the following weeks to come things to keep focusing on for me is ;
  • playing solid and not spewing.
  • maintain a healthy schedule working out/nutrition
  • regularly blog my thoughts for accountability and review
  • kick up the volume
  • try and avoid allnighter sessions
  • play majority of volume at peak hours
  • Manage my Time Well. Time is Precious Use it Carefully

@Rosh125 Shouts out to him for coming in like wrecking ball ;) ~

+Peter Chien (Pita) Best of luck to your month bro! Keep up the grind you'll bounce up in no time !

As always~

72s Promo gets 4/5 stars from me. Games were much softer however the promotion itself caused me to make some very atrocious plays. Can't help but get the feeling a lot of my upswing for this week was due to the promotion. . . coincidence? =)

May the rungood be ever in your favour

See you all on the tables !

Making 2300$- Part Time- August Week 1 Update.

 Summary of First Week Grinding

2300$ in a week
Add caption
The beginning of the month I was primarily out a ton
and  didn't really start grinding until about Aug-3.

As you can probably notice there was a significant downswing of approximately 12bi's near hand 31k this was mainly a cause of me playing 24-tables and having over 6-8 of them being HU last night during the Promotion.

I have been running very good lately against some of the regulars... who shall remain nameless. Although there's still a part of me that's deeply saddened by the fact of how many hands I've continued to relentlessly spew. . . a penny saved is a penny earned.

Goal-Re Cap Time! For the remainder of the month I will definitely try to keep up the volume a little bit as with the current pace I will be only on pace for 160k hands. . . half the amount that's required of me for SNE.

Thoughts On Happy Hour Promotion

The Happy-Hours are spaced apart in such a fashion that in order to hit all of them you would have to break up your grinds.
1am-2am
7-8am
5-6pm
The only way to hit is either to grind from 1-2 for 1 hour; sleep 6 hours wake up do 1 hour. It works if my last session ends at 2am, but in order to catch the next happy hour I can sleep a 'maximum' of 6 hours. . . which is unlikely since between ending session to sleeping takes me an hour more or less.

To make matters worse the tables especially reg-speed are riddled with regs at the more unusual hours. On a second note I was glad to see the Full-Ring Zoom tables running at 1-2am despite the fact that they usually die out around 9pm -(PST).

I think the Zoom tables had it a lot better off than the Reg-Tables since the 'best of the best' regs can only 'own me' on a maximum of 4 tables. . . . whereas the on the non-zoom tables this number can be up to 16-24.

Life and Health

After losing a ridiculous amount of weight in July. . I've decided to put on a bit more muscle before going on my 'Body Transformation Journey.' . . . . of course the benefit of putting on muscle means I get indulge in much more food.

For the past week I've gone and worked out approximately 4-5 times and eaten around 2500-3000 calories per day, more on days which I work out of course.

Have been reading a lot of articles and going to the library regularly to just try and get into writing more frequently in my spare time.

It's probably time for me to put in a bit more time for 'work' as I've spent a little less than 25 hours this week grinding. . . not exactly the 'Full-Time Pro

100 Billion Hands Celebration: Win with the Greatest Poker Hand

Simply play any real money No Limit Hold’em Zoom game at any stake between June 24-30. If you are dealt Ks-Kc and manage to win with it post-flop.

600$ Bonus Given you hit every single Boom hand.

Verdict

The Boom Promotions was a better promotion to players who made 600 VPP/ Hour or less and was not on pace for SNE, assuming that they were able to win with KcKs once each day throughout the duration.

During the period the Pool sizes of ZooM Games were almost doubled throughout the period, with the 100nl- Full Ring Zoom games running close to if not 24/7.

This definitely was a result of an influx of recreational players moving towards these games as the 'Professionals' played irregardless of the promotions.

VIP Club Month- Happy Hours promotion is a better promotion to players who are able to reap in more than 600 VPP/Hour at the ring games and are on pace or already at the super nova elite status.

The Promotion's intention was to give recreational players a chance to meet a VPP goal in order to qualify for the 1M $ Giveaways in the upcoming month of WCOOP, whether or not the games will get softer??

. . . we'll have to see.

Supernova Elite 2013

So apparently it's a little bit over half way through the year; and many who have attempted their first shot at the chase for 'Supernova Elite 2013' have given up.

Let's see a breakdown of it.

1,000,000 vpp's - 3.5mil FPP's-56,000  (starting at supernova, tad less at bronze star)
milestones + stellar = 44,500
=100k~ roughly the first year.

http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/supernova/elite/

Halfway mark- Game Plan

This year over about 500k hands of 100nl full ring both zoom and ring games, I've averaged approximately 0.25vpp/hand.

Sitting on 530k vpp's I will need approximately 1.88m more hands at 100nl fr.

There is 166 days left in the year meaning averaging 11.3k hands a day for the remainder of the year; this shouldn't be too difficult considering I'm averaging between 1200-1500 hands / hour between; 4 tabling zoom-fr ; 4 tabling + 12 regular tables; as well as 16-20 tabling regular tables.

This is assuming A) I do not mix in 200nl fr games 'hence not increasing my VPP/hand
                         B) Do not engage in 6max/ PLO/ other forms of the game.

The goal will be to play as much as 100nl full-ring that is possible when possible and not miss out on too many days of grinding.

So close but yet so far Scenario

At any given point where the projected 'near future' estimation of yearly vpp's is between the 900k-950k vpp range. A certain risk must be evaluated.

Ending year with 900k VPP vs SNE
- 20k milestone at SNE
- 5x multiplier v 3.5x multiplier

If SNE chase resulted in marginal failure this year, however is reached next year. The difference in cost is roughly : 20k + [(5-3.5)*1,000,000*0.016]= $44,000.

At which point; a last minute sprint plan for SNE will be drafted up.

Short Summary Reaching SNE 100nl FR - 2013

         Stars VIP = 100k~        Hands/Hr; 1200-1500
                                                Hours Required; 2666-3333

                                                Hourly

1bb/100= 40k~                        42$-->52$
1.5bb/100= 60k~                     48$-->60$
2bb/100= 80k~                        54$-->67$
3bb/100= 120k~                      66$-->82$

When you put the numbers in perspective. . .all of a sudden a rake back pro is making more than the average hourly of the middle class.
