#Downswings#Worst 2 Sessions of Month

#Downswings#Worst 2 Sessions of Month

Graph on the left was me pulling an all nighter in attempts to get back on pace to SNE. As you probably have noticed from my week 1 Review. I was falling quite behind on VPPs for the month and desperately needed to catch up if I wanted any chance at all in finish SNE before the holidays.

Same thing happened today; as I was attempting to grind those extra VPPs and such while playing during the "low hours" as well as being super tired the inevitable downswing slapped me in the face so hard. Spent a good portion of the night trying to get unstuck and hopefully even.

Lesson: If avoidable never grind during the lowest pool / player hours of the day. Avoid pulling all night grind sessions.

Hopefully I'll latch on to some weekend run-good an bank a nice giraffe for my Mid-Month Review. ! ~

Graph to date will not be posted until then; though do keep in mind those are just 2 of my all nighter session downswings for the month.

Given that I've been posting nothing but upswings so far I don't want people to get the wrong idea that you never have "bad sessions/bad days" in poker.

For the most part~ these 2 major downswings were a huge result of grinding late at night; not during peak hours and of course tilting a little bit here and there.

As Always~

Good luck to everyone else on the tables!!
May the RUNHOT be always in your favour =)~

October 8th #HEATWAVE#FAQ #EVBUCKS

#HEATWAVE#s'all bout the EVBUCKS

If you've been following my blog for the past week you know I've done nothing but run hot hot hot.

Today was little to that exception.

Since I've been cutting down tables recently playing a mixture of 6-8 tables instead of flat out 8-tabling it's been affecting my win rate in a positive fashion but VPP count in a negative fashion.

That being said. . as my volume is 8k hands. . I'm going to crank out another few more hours before I head to bed; nonetheless as it is the end of Oct-8th here in Van~ I shall update

Why Don't I stop 8-tabling putting in SNE volume?
Making SNE this year and making 900k VPP will be difference of about 45k this is accounting for (5x multiplier following year) ; 20k milestone.

But wouldn't the increase in WR negate the difference by volume?
If I cut volume in half. (200k hands a month) for next 3 months. 600k hands to make 45k = 7.5bb/100 difference. I'm not going to increase my winrate by 7.5 bb/100.

Oh but what if you ended up moving up!
Okay I'll humor you; let's say I move to 200nl-ZOOM I'll need to average 3.75bb/100 for remainder of year with that volume. Oh but wait. . that's a very achievable winrate for most players! . . not.

So you're keeping up with the SNE grind?
Too late to turn back now. I'm at 753k VPPs for the year. Even if I "stopped doing SNE volume" and cut it down I'll still end the year with 850k-900k VPPs. . which is 90% of the way there.

So no life for the next couple months?
Time Management. If ANYONE needs to sacrifice life in order to play poker. . either they really are passionate/obsessed about the game or . . . . . [insert insulting word of choice]

Friday- Weekend Prelude, Week 5 Body Transformation.

Fridays High Variance Large Player Pool, Tons of Fish.

You know you're a grinder when the only thing you associate with Friday is a larger pool of recreational players a a softer game.

Making Money OnlineLike every other day a good grind session should be started with a large coffee/energy drink, healthy breakfast, and some exercise to get the blood flowing.

I like the idea of reviewing the goals I have set for the month and planning out a tailored schedule for that day in order to reach my goals.

Let's start with some Hand Histories

any questions regarding the hands played can be posted in comments. Chances are I may have not played a hand optimally so any insights or critiques is well appreciated-

Overall day wasn't 'too bad' but was not too great either. Ran into a lot of poor/cooler situations where I lost hands as well as lost EV.

Ran into a lot of lucky situations where I won flips but consistently ran QQ into AA/KK AIPF. . .
This just goes to show that in the short run, EV only tells a part of the story, the story of your hand versus their exact hand.  Not a terrible day either way. . . on the bright side, shouldn't complain. . as pitabread189 points out here

Should be putting in more hands, however decided against it since the ZOOM player pool died out right after the 3:00am- 4:00am- EST promo ended. . . which by coincidence the parts of my graph with the most amount of variance were played between the Happy Hour Times. . . . perhaps a sign that it's not the greatest promotion.

Week 6
So after some in-depth thought after my first 4 weeks of cutting down my freshmen 15 and sophomore 25 I figured I will start bulking up a little bit more and throwing on some muscle mass.

I figured since summer is ending soon, as well as my love for food and lack of muscle mass I should work on that. The overall goal is by the end of the year; I will have a 6 month Transformation.

For the time being, will be trying to put on 2-3lbs of solid muscle this month (Realistically 1- 2lbs of fat as well).

For the time being; consuming 2500-3000 calories depending on whether or not I'm working out that day. Lifting weights 3-5x a week. I find that cardio tires me out and doesn't let me perform my best in the gym (depletes glycogen storage)  so will be avoiding running and stick to lighter jogs and walks
instead.

Upswing Day- Aug 6th .

Volume has been very poor so far for the month. After running a horrendous session yesterday I decided to call it a day and went out bowling/kareoke with couple friends. Ended up sleeping at around 4:30am yesterday and waking up at 12pm today.

Schedule for today was relatively brief; wake-up; went to the gym; came home grind; went out for a walk; last session. Nothing particular struck me today except for a little bit of reg-wars going on. . .
Not to say that fighting with other regs at the table is a bad thing, just perhaps whilst 24-tabling it'd not be the smartest idea to play against other regs.

The small downswing near the middle portion of my graph is a clear result of what happens when I try to actively battle regs while playing a ton of tables. There's only so much mental energy and physical dexterity that I can exert into this game. . . It's much easier to win an extra 10$(random figure) from a weaker player/ fish, than 10$(random figure) from a good regular at this game.

 Graph For The Day

Interesting Hands of Today

Hand 1: This hand occurred with a reg today, given that there was a lot of dynamic going on prior to this hand I figured he could be light on the flop/turn/river here.

Volume could have been better for me today if the zoom 100fr games didn't die out by 9pm-pst.

Unfortunate Day - Tree Fiddy

Due to the late night blogging of yesterday on my 'Homeless Interviews' today's grind sessions were cut short.

I mean, you can't always win. . . you just try and win more than you lose in the long run.

Day Graph

Started the day off really well, owning everyone in  sight. (Actually it was more like flopping the nuts on  every single table and getting paid off vs 2nd nuts.)

So far have been lacking in volume for the month. . . definitely going to try and kick it up a notch more tomorrow. Going to head to bed early and have a killer grind day tomorrow.

Shortly before my session ended, Butchen and I were getting into wars.

Chat box was hilarious when the river came a heart =), when he checked back on the turn, immediately put him capped on QK/AK.

Tanked a bit on the river, was thinking between betting or shipping. In hindsight probably shipping is better since it looks much scarier and isn't much more expensive.

The hand that broke the camel's back.
Then again. . . I didn't think he'd ever raise this river, so betting may just be the tad cheaper more +EV option.

I think I started to play a tad bit more aggressive the last couple days. . . a much more bluffing style.

Probably should pull back on that for a bit, and for the most part keep my aggression pinpoint.

Playing a super LAGGY game is actually quite very tilting, as opposed to a TAG or . . more passive game =X.
